Imam Khomeini Airport City Company Ready for Hajj flights

Caretaker of Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport City Company Saeed Chalandari voiced its readiness to implement Hajj operations and dispatch of pilgrims to the land of revelation.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, the meeting of planning and coordination council of the Supreme Leader’s Representative and Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization was held at Vahdat Hall at the presence of Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and Head of the Iranian pilgrims Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab and Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Seyyed Sadeq Hosseini. Chalandari said that Salam Terminal has been equipped for 1401 Hajj flights and necessary facilities have been considered for it.  Caretaker of Imam Khomeini (RA) Airport City Company continued by presenting a report on the measures taken so far for the implementation of Hajj operations and the manner of delivering baggage of pilgrims by the managers of caravans, and said, the first flight of Hajj al-Tamattu pilgrims will take off from Imam Khomeini International Airport on Sunday (22 of Khordad) and before that two flights for transferring the organizers and staff of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization have been considered for 18th and 20th of Khordad. “We will do our best with regard to admitting and sending all pilgrims to provide facilities in proportion to dignity of Hajj pilgrims and make a good memory from this spiritual journey remain in the minds of pilgrims,” Chalandari said.  Supreme Leader’s Representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs also underlined the need for anticipating proper capacities and facilities in order to prevent the waste of time for pilgrims at Imam Khomeini (RA) International Airport and keeping calm upon arrival at Imam Khomeini Airport and their dispatch to Saudi Arabia, and called for preparing the grounds for a suitable spiritual atmosphere in Salam Terminal and proper information dissemination by using sign-boards and guides. As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Mr. Akbar Rezaei, Deputy Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for Hajj and Hajj Omra and Mr. Mohammad Azad, Deputy Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for Management Development and Resources presented their reports on the measures taken for dispatching teams to Saudi Arabia, measures taken in the field of preparing the housing in Medina and Meccas cities, transport of pilgrims in the land of revelation, nutrition and logistics, transfer of foreign exchange to Saudi Arabia Bank for meeting the costs and inputting the pilgrims’ data to Mesmar program for obtaining visas.  The session was continued by Supreme Leader’s Deputy Representative for Cultural Affairs Seyyed Hossein Rokneddini on the manner of holding the training sessions of the Hajj al-Tamattu caravans, distribution of cultural items among pilgrims and the process of designating cultural servants for caravans.  “Due to the measures taken a sum of 38,000 postal parcels containing cultural packages of this year’s Hajj have been prepared and delivered to pilgrims in due time,” Supreme Leader’s Deputy Representative for Cultural Affairs Seyyed Hossein Rokneddini said.  At the end of meeting, Dr. Taher Doroui, deputy head of Medical Center of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization for Hajj and Omra said that a sum of 38,763 medical tests of pilgrims has been registered at the site, and said this number includes 18,961 male pilgrims and 19,802 female pilgrims which shows that female pilgrims outnumber male pilgrims by 1401 pilgrims.  He also pointed to the manner of procuring and injecting IVF and meningitis vaccines and also elaborated on procurement of the drugs needed by Hajj pilgrims during Hajj rituals by saying that some portion of the needed drugs of pilgrims, including syrups and serums will be procured in Saudi Arabia.
