Hojjat Al-Islam Navvab Tells Hajj Treatment Staff: Value and Importance of Your Work Is Superior to Others

Head of Iranian pilgrims, referring to the implementation of the honorary doctor plan since last year, said that the value and importance of your work is superior to that of other dear ones, and the presence of doctors brings encouragement to pilgrims.

According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the Supreme Leader's representative Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, in a conference on the line of pilgrim treatment staff who volunteered to serve in Hajj Tamattu 1403 on an honorary basis, while referring to the work commitment of doctors, stated that medicine and its commitment are very important, but the value and importance of your work is superior to other loved ones, because in addition to being a pilgrim, you will also serve God's pilgrims. "The Honorary Doctor project has been started since last year and it can be improved in any period and its deficiencies can be removed. We have good and valuable doctors among the pilgrims, whose presence brings encouragement to the pilgrims," he added. The head of Iranian pilgrims while addressing the audience pointed out that God has blessed you with all the success, and said, "Serving near God's house has another value like prayer in that land. You have entered this path with trust in God and faith in God's promises, and you are volunteering to serve as a Basij and Jihadi. Faithfulness and correct use of opportunities are also success factors." Referring to the educational role of parents, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab asked doctors and medical staff to pray for them if they are still alive and ask them to pray for your success in this journey. "It was definitely their prayer that made this trip possible." In another part of his speech, he mentioned a memory of an Indonesian couple: "I remember that in the past years, a problem happened to the wife of an Indonesian couple during a ceremony, and one of the Iranian doctors revived her. The Indonesian pilgrim opened his bag to give money to the Iranian doctor, but the Iranian doctor, while not accepting the money, took out a picture of the Supreme Leader and asked them to pray for his health. In the continuation of this conference, Seyyed Abbas Hosseini, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, while referring to the implementation points of the Hajj operation, said, "We are in a situation where the age of the pilgrims is increasing day by day, and this makes the work in the field of physical fitness more difficult." "In the past two years, we were faced with a large number of elderly pilgrims who referred to medical centers in terms of their physical condition. Considering this issue, this year, efforts were made to consider the issue of pilgrims' physical ability more carefully and sensitively," he added. The head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage organization stated that the issue of the honorary doctor has been done well, and reminded that some of the pilgrims were able to receive the desired services from their doctor companions, and the crew members are also with the pilgrims. "Pilgrim crews have a good statistical community and were able to come to the aid of the Hajj organization. In the last two years, we were able to reduce the number of brokers by about 800 and add the same number of pilgrims. More than half of the pilgrims are women, so special attention should be paid to women," he added. In the continuation of this conference, Seyed Ali Marashi, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center of the Red Crescent Society, said, "The project of an honorary doctor was started last year with the opinion of Hojjat al-Islam Navvab and this year the shortcomings of the plan were eliminated.  Regarding the number of pilgrims in the medical field, he said: About 459 pilgrims are employed in the field of healthcare. "There are 78 volunteers, 14 of whom are specialist doctors and 16 of whom are general practitioners, as well as dentists, pharmacists, nurses and other medical fields." Pointing out that "we should help prevent the occurrence of diseases", he said, "The presence of volunteer doctors creates peace among the pilgrims and their close communication is effective in maintaining their health." At the end, Alireza Rashidian, the head of the honorary treatment staff of Hajj 1403, while referring to the age statistics of the pilgrims and the type of illness of the pilgrims, said, "Stress, pressure and homelessness are the factors that make the conditions difficult for the pilgrims." It should be mentioned that this virtual conference was broadcast from the Rouberou Internet portal for volunteer doctors.
