Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs and the chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced their full readiness in dispatching Iranian pilgrims to the land of revelation at the meeting with Maraji’.

As reported by Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Abdolfattah Navvab along with Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini attending in the offices of Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani and Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani on 15th Ordibehesht, met and talked with these Maraji’.


Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs presented a report on sending Iranian pilgrims to the Hajj 1401 ritual at these meetings and referring to the conditions ahead, assessed the executive, educational and cultural planning for the Iranian pilgrims positively.


Referring to Saudi Arabia's announced quota of sending 45% of Iranian pilgrims and announcing the age condition under 65, he announced consultations to increase the age of pilgrims and increase the number of pilgrims accordingly, and said: "I have informed Saudi a government about my corrective and constructive opinion in this field.


Hojjat al-Islam Navvab stressed that the age condition deprives many Muslims from Hajj. He also expressed hope that with the removal of the age condition, future Hajj will be held this year on the best possible way.


If the age condition for the pilgrims’ presence in Hajj increases to people over 70 to 75 years old and no underlying disease is the criterion for attending the land of revelation, there are people among the pilgrims who are in perfect health and can perform Hajj, on the other hand, there is no guarantee for the physical health of people under the age of 65, he added.


Referring to corona virus crisis and closure of Hajj rituals in the past two years, Supreme Leader’s representative in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs said that the Supreme Leader Delegation Office and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization are ready to send Iranian pilgrims to the land of revelation and said: we  are facing difficult situation this year, but necessary conditions attending Hajj is available for the glorious ceremony.


Stating that necessary measures have been taken to form caravans and prepare clergies, he expressed hope that due to time constraints, necessary arrangements will be made well and officials can be good servants of pilgrims.


Announced the dispatch of 39,600 people to this year hajj, Mr. Seyyed Sadegh Hosseini presented a report on the services of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in accommodation, nutrition, transportation and other executive operations, saying that there are no problems in the country on dispatching pilgrims.


Chairman of Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization stated that Iran's quota in previous years was 85,000 and in 1399 74,500 people were ready to be sent, but work was stopped due to corona pandemic. This year, only 39,600 people will be sent due to the quota reduction.


Stating that necessary conditions for Hajj and sending pilgrims is provided, he added lack of consular relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is one of the problems ahead. Chairman of hajj and pilgrimage organization also said the first flight to Saudi Arabia will be on 23th Khordad and the last flight will take place from Saudi Arabia to Iran on 7th Mordad.
