Briefing Meeting Held for Evaluation of Cultural Servants for Hajj 1404
A briefing meeting was held in Tehran on Wednesday for the evaluation of cultural servants for the upcoming Hajj, with statements by the Supreme Leader's representative for Hajj and pilgrimage affairs.
According to Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab, the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, stated in this meeting, citing the narrations and words of the Commander of the Faithful (Imam Ali) and Imam Sadeq (AS) and expressing ethical points: "Evaluating cultural servants is one of the most difficult responsibilities in the entire mission of the Supreme Leader, which has been entrusted to you today."
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab stated that one should act in an evaluation of individuals in a way that has a positive impact on the person being evaluated, and said: Identifying and understanding the thoughts of cultural servants is important, and judgment must be made correctly and without error.
He considered it wrong to approve or reject without reason and clarified: Evaluation must be knowledgeable and lead to the elimination of shortcomings. Imam Ali (AS) says: “Precaution before doing any action will protect you from regret.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs further advised those present to benefit from the experiences of others and to pay attention to preserving the dignity of individuals in the assessments.
He added, "Imam Sadeq (AS) says in this regard: "Stop before every action [and think] until you know its beginning and end, before you get involved and regret it."
He rejected one-sided judgment and clarified: "You must understand the person being evaluated and talk to him/her humbly, and be sure to remind him/her of his/her positive points."
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab reminded of the need to pay attention to the relationship between the manager and cultural servants in the caravans and to strengthen the sense of cooperation and collaboration between them, adding: "This will cause both of these people to work together to provide better services to the pilgrims."
The head of Iranian pilgrims stated that it is mentioned in the teachings of Imam Ali (AS) as follows: "Good planning increases a small fortune, and bad planning destroys a great fortune," he said. "Having the three characteristics of humility, patience, and gentleness in ethics will lead to successful results. Try to reduce or eliminate the negative impact of others' mistakes, and while pointing out mistakes, provide guidance as much as possible and consider correcting and improving matters."
According to this report, at the beginning of this meeting, Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Hossein Rukn al-Dini, the cultural deputy of the Supreme Leader's delegation, referred to the objectives of holding this meeting and reported on the evaluation of Hajj coordinators for the year 1403, the regulations for selecting Hajj coordinators, and the procedure for evaluating the performance of cultural agents.
